All skaters interested in playing ice hockey can take advantage of our learn-to-play hockey classes. There are several levels of learn-to-play hockey classes, offered at Clearwater Ice Arena and TBSA-Oldsmar, where skaters learn skills and perform drills to prepare them for playing on a hockey team.
Classes are grouped by age and ability, and meet once weekly for a 45 minute lesson with a USA Hockey certified coach. Learn-to-play hockey skaters enjoy free skate rental during each class and receive free public session admission passes for extra practice time.
Below are brief descriptions of the elements learned in each level of TBSA learn-to-play hockey skating classes. Please note that mastering the elements in any level can take more than one session depending on how often a skater practices between classes, Individual progression rates vary by student. Speak to your TBSA class coach with any thoughts or questions throughout your class session.
